INTRODUCTION TO BMX

Are you new to BMX? We suggest you read the following BMX Parent's Guide(PDF,118Kb). It contains a good introduction into what you can expect when you come to ride at Cochrane BMX.

2010 REGISTRATION FEE SCHEDULE

Anyone who registers on or before February 20th, 2010 will receive a custom Cochrane BMX number plate at the beginning of the season!

$150 BMX Membership includes:

Jan 1 - Dec 31 Family membership for Cochrane and District Agricultural Society
Jan 1 - Dec 31 Individual Membership for Alberta Bicycle Association.
BMX racing at all BMX tracks in Alberta
License to enter Alberta Bicycle, Canadian and UCI sanctioned races
Cochrane BMX year end awards

$150 4-Cross Membership includes:

Jan 1 - Dec 31 Family membership for Cochrane and District Agricultural Society
Jan 1 - Dec 31 Individual Membership for Alberta Bicycle Association.
4-Cross racing at all 4-Cross tracks in Alberta
License to enter Alberta Bicycle, Canadian BMX and UCI sanctioned races

$200 BMX+4-Cross Membership

same as above memberships except you are licensed to race both 4-Cross and BMX.

$75 Insurance Only Membership

At least one family member must already hold a full BMX or 4-Cross membership.
Jan 1 - Dec 31 Insurance Only Membership for Alberta Bicycle Association.
Members with this type of license will not be allowed to ride at any track other than Cochrane BMX and will not qualify for any year end awards.
This membership can be upgraded at any time to the full membership for an extra $75.

Join Us for the 2010 BMX Season

Interested in joining us for the 2010 BMX Season? There are many registration options available(see below).New for 2010: we are now taking registrations for 4-Cross as well as BMX. An Alberta Provincial 4-Cross series was startedlast year and is continuing for this season.

Registration Options

OPTION 1

Attend our Registration day at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Centre on February 20, 2010 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.
All of the forms will be there to be filled out.
Make sure that the rider is in attendance to be able to sign the forms and, if this is your first application for an Alberta Bicycle license, bring a copy of the rider's birth certificate.
You will receive a custom BMX Number plate for signing up on or before February 20, 2010 (to be distributed on the first day of racing).

OPTION 2

STEP 1: Print and fill out the following forms:
Alberta Bicycle License Application - ensure ALL signatures are in place 3 on the waiver form .. the first 2 are the rider signatures, the third is the parent signature (they will send the form back if the child did not sign him/herself).If this is your first application, they need a copy of a birth certificate attached to the application. Also note, each application must have a unique email address.

Cochrane and District Ag Society Application - parents can sign all of the areas on this form. Since this membership is for the family, use the parent names as the member names.

STEP 2: Send a cheque in the amount listed on the fee schedule payable to Cochrane BMX Association:

STEP 3: You will be notified when we receive your licenses (we will either be handing them out at the track on a race or practice night or we will send them to you by mail to the address listed on the application form).

OPTION 3

Registration packages will be available at Bike Bros in Cochrane.
Pick up the forms, complete all fields necessary, attach a copy of a birth certificate if necessary.
Attach a cheque for the appropriate amount and mail to the address provided.

OPTION 4

During the BMX racing season, forms will be available at the track on the nights that the track is open. The forms can be filled out right there - make sure you bring a copy of the birth certificate if necessary.
